We startid to reed a very hard book. I never red such a hard book before.
우리는 아주 어려운 책을 읽기 시작했다. 그렇게 어려운 책은 생전 처음이었다.
Its called Robinson Crusoe about a man who gets merooned on a dessert iland.
‘로빈슨 크루소’라는 책인데, 무인도에 조난당한 한 남자에 관한 이야기다.
Robinson Crusoe(로빈슨 크루소)는 무인도에 고립된 남자의 생존기를 다룬 고전입니다. 지능이 낮아 사회에서 고립되었던 찰리의 처지와 묘하게 닮아 있는 책이죠.
Hes smart and figgers out all kinds of things so he can have a house and food and hes a good swimmer.
그는 똑똑해서 집과 먹을 것을 구하기 위해 온갖 방법을 생각해 낸다. 수영도 아주 잘한다.
Only I feel sorry for him because hes all alone and he has no frends.
하지만 친구도 없이 혼자라 그가 불쌍하다는 생각이 든다.
But I think their must be somebody else on the iland because theres a picture of him with his funny umbrela looking at feetprints.
그래도 섬에 다른 사람이 있는 게 분명하다. 그림 속에서 그가 이상한 우산을 들고 발자국을 쳐다보고 있었기 때문이다.
I hope he gets a frend and not be so lonely.
그에게 친구가 생겨서 더는 외롭지 않았으면 좋겠다.

She says look at a werd and close your eyes and say it over and over again until you remember.
단어를 보고 눈을 감은 뒤, 기억날 때까지 계속 반복해서 말해 보라고 하셨다.
I have lots of truble with through that you say THREW and enough and tough that you dont say ENEW and TEW.
나는 ‘through’를 ‘threw’처럼 발음하고, ‘enough’나 ‘tough’를 ‘enew’나 ‘tew’처럼 발음하지 않는 것이 너무 헷갈린다.
영어의 복잡한 철자법 때문에 찰리가 혼란을 겪고 있습니다. 소리 나는 대로 쓰는 것에 익숙했던 그에게 표준 맞춤법은 아주 큰 장벽이었을 겁니다.
You got to say ENUFF and TUFF. Thats how I use to rite it before I started to get smart.
‘enough’는 ‘enuff’로, ‘tough’는 ‘tuff’로 소리 내야 한다. 내가 똑똑해지기 전에는 항상 그렇게 썼었다.
Im mixd up but Miss Kinnian says dont worry spelling is not suppose to make sence.
혼란스럽긴 하지만, 선생님은 맞춤법이 항상 논리적인 건 아니니 걱정 말라고 하셨다.
