“어떻게 그렇게 먼 곳까지 볼 수 있었는지 지금도 도무지 이해가 안 갑니다”라고 술회했다.
A woman who recalled this experience notes, “It seemed as if this spiritual sense had no limitations, as if I could look anywhere and everywhere.”
당시를 회상하던 한 여성은 다음과 같이 기록했다. “이 영적인 감각에는 한계가 없는 것 같았어요. 어디든, 그리고 모든 곳을 다 볼 수 있을 것만 같았거든요.”
This phenomenon is described very graphically in this portion of an interview with a woman who was out of her body following an accident.
사고 직후 유체 이탈을 경험한 한 여성과의 인터뷰 중 다음 대목은 이러한 현상을 매우 생생하게 묘사하고 있다.
영체의 시각적 능력이 얼마나 초월적인지 보여주는 구체적인 사례로 장면이 전환됩니다. 줌 렌즈를 사용하는 것처럼 시야를 확장하는 묘사가 아주 흥미롭습니다.
There was a lot of action going on, and people running around the ambulance.
“현장은 매우 긴박하게 돌아가고 있었고, 앰뷸런스 주변으로 사람들이 바쁘게 뛰어다니고 있었습니다.”
And whenever I would look at a person to wonder what they were thinking, it was like a zoom-up, exactly like through a zoom lens, and I was there.
“그리고 누군가를 보며 그 사람이 무슨 생각을 하는지 궁금해지면, 마치 줌 렌즈로 당겨 보듯이 그 모습이 확 클로즈업되면서 제가 바로 그 옆에 가 있었어요.”
But it seemed that part of me —I’ll call it my mind—was still where I had been, several yards away from my body.
“하지만 제 일부—정신이라고 부를게요—는 원래 있던 곳, 즉 제 육체에서 몇 야드 떨어진 곳에 그대로 머물러 있는 것 같았습니다.”
When I wanted to see someone at a distance, it seemed like part of me, kind of like a tracer, would go to that person.
“멀리 있는 누군가를 보고 싶을 때면 제 일부가 마치 추적 장치처럼 그 사람에게로 날아가는 것 같았죠.”
And it seemed to me at the time that if something happened anyplace in the world that I could just be there.
“당시에는 세상 어디에서든 무슨 일이 일어나더라도 제가 즉시 그곳에 가 있을 수 있을 것만 같았습니다.”
“Hearing” in the spiritual state can apparently be called so only by analogy, and most say that they do not really hear physical voices or sounds.
영적 상태에서의 ‘청각’은 단지 비유적으로만 그렇게 불릴 수 있는 것으로 보인다. 대부분의 체험자는 물리적인 목소리나 소리를 실제로 듣는 것은 아니라고 말하기 때문이다.
여기서 청각은 비유적인 표현일 뿐입니다. 소리라는 물리적 파동 대신 상대방의 생각과 감정이 곧바로 내 의식 속에 전이되는, 일종의 마음의 소리를 듣는 과정이라고 이해하시면 될 것 같습니다.
Rather, they seem to pick up the thoughts of persons around them, and, as we shall see later,

this same kind of direct transfer of thoughts can play an important role in the late stages of death experiences.

As one lady put it, I could see people all around, and I could understand what they were saying.
