Falling over themselves는 어떤 일을 하려고 무척 서두르다 혹은 안달이 나다라는 뜻의 숙어입니다.
He fished a bit of paper from his pocket and studied it.

The son obediently left the room and returned with the writing materials.
아들은 고분고분 방을 나가서 필기 도구를 가지고 돌아왔다.
“Write down these figures,” the father said, reading from his bit of paper.
“이 숫자들을 적어 보렴.” 아빠가 종이 조각을 읽으며 말했다.
“Car number one was bought by me for two hundred and seventy-eight pounds and sold for one thousand four hundred and twenty-five. Got that?”
“1번 차는 내가 278파운드에 사서 1425파운드에 팔았어. 적었니?”
The ten-year-old boy wrote the two separate amounts down slowly and carefully.
