I had seen their bags in Morrie’s house and figured he must like the food there—
모리의 집에서 그 마켓 봉투를 본 적이 있었기에 그가 그곳 음식을 좋아할 거라고 짐작했기 때문이다.
and I loaded up with plastic containers from their fresh food take-away,

things like vermicelli with vegetables and carrot soup and baklava.

버미첼리(vermicelli)는 아주 가는 파스타 면을, 바클라바(baklava)는 견과류와 꿀이 들어간 달콤한 디저트를 말합니다. 치아가 약해져서 씹기 편한 부드러운 음식 위주로 준비한 미치의 정성이 느껴지네요.
When I entered Morrie’s study, I lifted the bags as if I’d just robbed a bank. “Food man!” I bellowed. Morrie rolled his eyes and smiled.
모리의 서재에 들어서며 나는 마치 은행이라도 턴 것처럼 봉투들을 높이 들어 보였다. “음식 배달 왔습니다!” 내가 크게 외치자 모리는 눈을 굴리며 미소 지었다.
Meanwhile, I looked for signs of the disease’s progression.

His fingers worked well enough to write with a pencil, or hold up his glasses,
