“Pay out line. Whoa, girl! Steady now! Attach! Climb! Attach! Over to the right!”
“실 뽑고. 옳지, 샬롯! 이제 차분하게! 붙여! 올라가! 붙이고! 오른쪽으로!”
“Pay out line! Attach! Now right and down and swing that loop and around and around!”
“실 뽑고! 붙여! 이제 오른쪽 아래로 내려가면서 고리를 크게 만들고, 뱅글뱅글 돌아!”
“Now in to the left! Attach! Climb! Repeat! O.K.! Easy, keep those lines together!”
“자, 이제 왼쪽으로! 붙이고! 올라가! 반복! 좋아! 조심해서 그 줄들을 잘 모아야 해!”
“Now, then, out and down for the leg of the R! Pay out line! Whoa! Attach! Ascend! Repeat! Good girl!”
“자, 이제 밖으로 내려가서 R의 다리를 만들자! 실 뽑고! 멈춰! 붙이고! 다시 올라가! 반복! 아주 잘했어, 샬롯!”
And so, talking to herself, the spider worked at her difficult task.
이렇게 거미는 혼잣말을 중얼거리며 그 어려운 작업을 계속해 나갔답니다.
When it was completed, she felt hungry. She ate a small bug that she had been saving. Then she slept.
마침내 일이 끝나자 샬롯은 배가 고파졌어요. 아껴 두었던 작은 벌레 한 마리를 먹고는 곧 잠이 들었지요.
