Then the fox came.

“Good morning,” said the fox. “Good morning,” the little prince said politely.
“안녕.” 여우가 인사했어요. “안녕하세요.” 어린 왕자가 정중하게 대답했죠.
“Who are you? You’re very pretty.” “I’m a fox,” said the fox.
“누구세요? 참 예쁘게 생겼네요.” “난 여우야.” 여우가 말했어요.
“Play with me,” the little prince said, “I’m very sad.”
“나랑 같이 놀아요. 지금 너무 슬프거든요.” 어린 왕자가 말했어요.
“I can’t play with you. I’m wild,” the fox said. “Ah! I’m sorry,” said the little prince.
“난 너랑 놀 수 없어. 난 길들여지지 않았거든.” 여우가 대답했어요. “아! 미안해요.” 어린 왕자가 사과했죠.
여기서 wild는 아직 유대감을 형성하지 않아 서로에게 특별한 존재가 되지 못한 상태를 의미하는 핵심 키워드로 사용되고 있습니다.
But after some thought, he added, “What does wild mean?”
하지만 그는 곰곰이 생각하더니 다시 물었어요. “그런데 ‘길들여지지 않았다’는 게 무슨 뜻인가요?”
“You’re not from here,” said the fox. “What are you looking for?”
“너는 여기 사는 아이가 아니구나. 무얼 찾고 있니?” 여우가 물었어요.
“I’m looking for people,” said the little prince. “What does wild mean?”
“사람들을 찾고 있어요. 그런데 ‘길들인다’는 건 무슨 뜻이죠?”
“People,” said the fox, “have guns and they hunt. It’s a problem for me.
“사람들은 총을 가지고 사냥을 하지. 그건 나에게 아주 곤란한 일이란다.”
