And the girl around the corner sent him a Valentine signed with a row of X’s,
길모퉁이에 사는 여자애는 소년에게 X가 줄지어 적힌 발렌타인 카드를 보냈어.
영어권 국가에서 편지 끝에 적는 X는 키스(Kisses)를 상징하는 관용적인 표현입니다.
and he had to ask his father what the X’s meant.
소년은 아빠한테 X가 무슨 뜻인지 물어봐야 했지.
And his father always tucked him in bed at night. And was always there to do it.
아빠는 매일 밤 소년의 이부자리를 챙겨주며 잠자리를 봐주셨어. 항상 그 자리에 계셨지.
