Dearest Kitty, North Amsterdam was very heavily bombed on Sunday. There was apparently a great deal of destruction.
사랑하는 키티, 일요일에 암스테르담 북부가 아주 심한 폭격을 당했어. 피해가 정말 어마어마한 것 같더라고.
1943년 7월, 연합군이 암스테르담 북부의 군수 공장을 노리고 폭격했으나 민간인 지역까지 피해를 입혔던 실제 역사적 사건을 언급하고 있습니다.
Entire streets are in ruins, and it will take a while for them to dig out all the bodies.
거리 전체가 폐허가 됐고, 시신들을 다 수습하는 데만도 시간이 꽤 걸릴 거래.
So far there have been two hundred dead and countless wounded; the hospitals are bursting at the seams.

베프 언니가 요즘 공책들을 구할 수 있나 봐. 특히 일기장이랑 장부 같은 것들 말이야. 회계 일을 돕는 우리 언니한테 딱이지!
