불이 꺼진 사화산도 하나 있었는데, 그는 “어떻게 될지 모르니까요!”라고 말하며 그것마저 깨끗이 청소했답니다.
So he cleaned this volcano too. If they are correctly cleaned, there are no eruptions.
그래서 그는 이 화산까지 깨끗이 청소했어요. 화산을 잘 관리해 두면 갑자기 폭발하는 일은 없거든요.
Of course, on our Earth we are very small to clean our volcanoes. That’s why they’re causing us a lot of trouble.
물론 우리 지구 사람들은 화산을 청소하기엔 몸집이 너무 작지요. 그래서 화산들이 우리에게 많은 골칫거리를 안겨주는 거랍니다.

The little prince also pulled, a little sadly, the last little baobabs. He thought that this was his last day on his planet.
어린 왕자는 조금 슬픈 마음으로 마지막 남은 작은 바오바브나무 싹들도 뽑아냈어요. 그는 이것이 자신의 별에서 보내는 마지막 날이라고 생각했죠.
He didn’t plan to come back. He gave water to his flower one last time, then he put her under glass.
다시는 돌아오지 못할 거라고 생각했거든요. 그는 마지막으로 꽃에게 물을 주었고, 유리 덮개를 씌워주려 했어요.
At that moment, he felt that he was very close to tears. “Goodbye,” he said to the flower.
그 순간, 그는 눈물이 왈칵 쏟아질 것만 같았어요. “안녕.” 그가 꽃에게 작별 인사를 했어요.
But she didn’t answer him. “Goodbye,” he repeated.
하지만 꽃은 아무 대답도 하지 않았죠. “잘 있어.” 그가 다시 한번 말했어요.
The flower coughed. But it wasn’t because she had a cold.
꽃이 기침을 했어요. 하지만 감기에 걸려서 그런 건 아니었죠.
“I was stupid,” she said at last. “I want to apologize. Try to be happy.”
“내가 참 어리석었어.” 꽃이 마침내 입을 열었어요. “미안해. 부디 행복해지길 바라.”
언제나 오만하고 까다롭게만 굴던 꽃이 처음으로 자신의 잘못을 인정하고 어린 왕자의 행복을 빌어주는 가슴 뭉클한 장면입니다.
He was surprised that she didn’t complain. He stood there quite confused.
어린 왕자는 꽃이 투정 부리지 않는 것에 깜짝 놀랐어요. 그는 어리둥절한 채 그 자리에 멈춰 섰죠.
He was holding the glass in his hand. He didn’t understand this calm kindness.
그는 손에 유리 덮개를 든 채 서 있었어요. 이런 담담하고 부드러운 친절을 그는 도무지 이해할 수 없었답니다.
