PHILOSOPHER: “That’s right. A sense of belonging is something that one acquires through one’s own efforts—”
철학자: “맞습니다. 소속감이란 거저 주어지는 것이 아니라 스스로의 노력으로 획득하는 것입니다.”
“it is not something one is endowed with at birth. Community feeling is the much-debated key concept of Adlerian psychology.”
“공동체 감각은 아들러 심리학에서 가장 많은 논쟁을 불러일으키는 핵심 개념이지요.”
It was certainly a concept that the young man found difficult to accept at first.
청년이 이 개념을 처음부터 받아들이기란 확실히 쉬운 일이 아니었습니다.

And naturally, it upset him to be told he was self-centered.

But what he found hardest to accept was the incredible extent of that community, which included the universe and inanimate objects.

“And you’re saying that community feeling is having ‘a sense of others as comrades’”
