My reply was to fling my arms around his neck and hug him, leaning my face against his shaved face.
We were laughing and the tragedy had begun to fade. “I know a beautiful spot. We can take something to eat.”
“What do you like best?” “You, Portuga.” “I’m talking about salami, eggs, bananas...”
“I like everything. At home we learn to like anything and everything.”
